Canadian Minister of Defense; Harjit Sajjan to speak at 15th Anniversary 9-11 Memorial Gathering at Peace Arch Park, Surrey British Columbia

The Honourable Harjit Sajjan will represent Canada at the joint American and Canadian service and reception honoring those who sacrificed all on September 11th, 2001.

US Consul General Platt, and a bilateral group of dignitaries and first responders from Canada and the United States of America will join Defense Minister Sajjan at the memorial.  The service and reception will take place at the Peace Arch Border Crossing (Douglas) at 10:00 hours on Sunday September 11th, 2016.

Join over 250 heroes from CBSA, USBP, RCMP, WA State Police, VPD, Fire and Paramedic teams from USA and Canada, Military, and our five dignitaries from New York who bravely served on September 11th, 2001.

First Responder Heroes flown in to be our honored guests:

Robin Crucey   – NYPD

2016 General Public Ceremony


Join us Sunday, September 11th at the Peace Arch Park Border for the 15th annual 9-11 Memorial Ceremony and reception. Guests are requested to be in formal dress attire if possible.

The ceremony at the border is scheduled for 10:00 am followed by a special BBQ luncheon (by donation) sponsored by Save-On-Foods and Clearline Chartered Accountants with donation proceeds benefiting Behind the Badge Foundation and the Honour House Society.


If coming from the U.S.       9-11 Memorial Event Map – US Parking

  • Travel North on I-5
  • Take Exit 276
  • Proceed to 2nd Street from roundabout
  • Continue to end of the road and enter the Peace Arch Parking Lot.


If coming from Canada        9-11 Memorial Event Map – Canada

  • Travel South on BC-99
  • Turn Right onto Beach Road.
  • Turn Left at the Peace Arch Park Sign.
  • Travel to the end of the road and enter the Peace Arch Parking Lot.
